Wildlife & Frequent Sightings.

The favorite highlight of game drives at Singita Sabi Sands is certainly the Big Cat interaction - this unique game reserve is one of the World’s most famous Leopard hotspots, a true paradise for enthusiasts and photographers! Prides of lions, cheetah and leopard are frequently encountered on game drives. Other popular sightings are herds of Elephant, Giraffe, Buffalo, Zebra and general Antelope species such as Impala, Kudu, Springbok and Waterbuck. White Rhino are also regularly seen at the reserve.
Singita Eco Safari

Eco-tourism and the role of Singita.

As custodians of over 500,000-acres scattered across 3 African nations, The Singita family have been responsible in the care of the bio-diversity of these incredibly beautiful places for over 85 years. The Singita Environmental Team have continually invested in anti-poaching measures to secure this precious region in the Sabi Sand and have helped fund complex management systems in coordination with the South African government that not only help protect the land and its wildlife but also contribute to continual environmental and sustainability research.

In addition to care of the land and its wildlife, the Singita lodges also support the indigenous communities and villages through vocational training, supplemental feeding and educational programs funded by the eco-safari operation.

Singita Game Reserve African Wildog
“Interactions like these are rare to witness on Safari; The African Wild Dogs, like wolves and their domestic cousins, have somewhat of a brazen nature and will often ‘taunt’ larger animals like Buffalo.” -

More and more frequently-sighted in recent years, Singita Game Reserve has been favored with rare African Wild Dog packs - especially in the South African winter months when safari guests have responsibly tracked and witnessed exciting numbers of this very successful predator; a highly-endangered and difficult to see species in Africa today. Spending a rewarding afternoon in the company of these animals is a prized lifetime memory to gain on safari.
