Miavana dances to the rhythm of two distinct seasons, each offering its own magic. From November to mid-May, warm days are kissed by gentle rains that fall mostly at night, creating the ideal backdrop for underwater exploration. Dive into crystal-clear waters, glide across the sea on skis, snorkel among vibrant reefs, or witness the graceful sea turtles nesting along the shore.

As mid-May arrives, the air turns cooler, and the seasonal winds stir. These winds call to the adventurers—those eager to watch majestic whales breach the ocean’s surface, spot graceful terns in flight, or harness the wind while kiteboarding across the waves. Guests can explore the island’s trails on guided nature walks for an introduction to Miavana’s abundant fauna and flora. Track our resident lemurs as well as the world’s biggest chameleon and one of its smallest (barely the size of your fingertip!) as well as a variety of butterflies and bountiful bird life - the best part is that there’s nothing dangerous or venomous on the island. Our turtle monitoring team walks the beaches every morning in search of turtle nesting activity. You can also go and see seasonal nesting Terns on nearby Manampaho.
