Majestic in their natural environment, the hikes to see them can range from 30 minutes to over 4 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family assigned to your group. Along the way, watch for playful Golden Monkeys in the treetops and discover a variety of exotic birds, some unique to this area. A visit to Dian Fossey’s Karisoke Research Centre offers a chance to learn firsthand about her groundbreaking conservation work.
