Thoughtfully conceived, Masiya’s Camp offers six canvas suites wrapped in glass from floor to ceiling, each with its own heated plunge pool, timber deck, shaded outdoor sala, and generous living areas that embrace both interior and alfresco spaces. No two suites are alike—each blends vintage pieces with contemporary touches, the exotic with the familiar—all crafted to frame and celebrate the untamed landscape beyond. Royal Malewane offers Big Five game viewing: home to Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino in a private reserve. This is luxury reimagined — where time, space, and seclusion reign supreme.

The camp redefines tented living—six suites beneath canvas that feel decidedly contemporary, equipped with every comfort imaginable. Each suite opens onto its own private pool, gazing out across endless bushveld. Inside, the spaces strike a balance between elegance and warmth. Flowing interior fabrics and handcrafted Indian doors create an intriguing dialogue between far-flung influences and the African landscape. Persian rugs anchor the rooms, while custom furnishings and heritage-inspired textiles sit comfortably alongside modern conveniences.
Inspired by the paint-shop palette of surrounding nature, owner Liz Biden has combined a riot of contrasting hues and patterns: soft dusty pinks — inspired by visits to Marrakech and referencing the African soil — offset by new-shoot green; the terracotta orange of an African sunset; the pale blue of a European Roller; and the vibrant red of a Lucky Bean seed.

Every suite at Masiya’s Camp carries its own character. Soft blush tones and delicate florals give way to rich Kingfisher blues and cinnabar reds. Elsewhere, Moroccan ceramics, deep botanical greens, and striking original African artwork bring layers of cultural texture and creative energy. Throughout, the design philosophy remains consistent: luxury woven seamlessly into nature, where each carefully considered detail deepens the sense of place and quiet indulgence.

The heart of Masiya’s Camp unfolds across open-plan living areas for an unhurried and intimate connection with the surrounding wilderness. Expansive glass panels retract fully, dissolving the boundary between indoors and the bush for a truly immersive experience.
Beneath a canopied dining pavilion, bold interiors frame an interactive kitchen where chefs work in full view. A wood-fired pizza oven and open-air barbecue deck extend the culinary theatre outdoors. Nearby, the lounge tent opens through stacking glass doors onto the landscape, furnished with pieces crafted exclusively for the camp.
A heated swimming pool anchors the communal space, flanked by loungers positioned for quiet contemplation of the wilderness beyond. Tucked between lounge and dining areas, a bar clad in rich green tile commands views in every direction—a natural gathering point as the sun dips below the treeline.

Meals at Masiya’s Camp are shaped by curiosity and a spirit of shared discovery. The interactive kitchen sits at the centre of the experience — guests watch as skilled chefs bring each course to life, with live cooking demonstrations at the counter and the primal theatre of flame and smoke from the outdoor pizza oven. Where you dine shifts with mood and moment—communal tables in the main pavilion, fireside beneath open sky, or the privacy of your own deck. A relaxed pizza supper under a canopy of stars feels as considered as an elaborate candlelit dinner.

Masiya's Camp
Masiya’s Camp features six canvas-draped suites, each offering a private and tranquil retreat. Each Luxury Tented Suite spans 2,476 ft² including the outdoor spaces. All suites at Masiya’s Camp offer king-sized beds which can be split into two three-quarter-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms with freestanding baths, indoor / outdoor showers, and double vanities. Private decks offer a heated plunge pool, outdoor lounge and dining space. Additional features include a mini-bar, hidden pop-up smart television with satellite channels and streaming services, air conditioning, ceiling fans, underfloor heating and Wi-Fi connectivity. These spacious suites have a dedicated lounge area with views of the bushveld.
