Giraffe Manor

The giraffes are, without question, the heart of Giraffe Manor. Guests can experience the joy of feeding these gentle giants during breakfast or afternoon tea, as they gracefully extend their long necks through the windows.

Giraffe Manor features a Spa and the Daisy’s Café. A pool setting in the gardens for a quick dip. Attractions nearby include the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, well worth a visit and the Karen Blixen museum. The original Manor House features six rooms: Betty, Daisy, Jock, Lynn, Marlon and the Karen Blixen Suite. And the newly-built 2011 Garden Manor also has six rooms: Salma, Edd, Arlene, Helen, Kelly and the Finch Hatton Suite. A short stroll across the front lawn of the Giraffe Manor brings you to the AFEW (African Fund for Endangered Wildlife) Giraffe Centre, a sanctuary for the Rothschild Giraffe and wildlife conservation.

Whether you're dining in the grand manor or the charming Garden Manor, rest assured the giraffes know exactly where to find you. As they stretch their long, inquisitive necks, be prepared for a visit from their nimble tongues—don’t worry, it’s the nutrient-packed dried grass pellets they’re after, not your waffles. Afternoon tea at the manor is another must. Imagine sitting in serene gardens, giraffes nearby, as you indulge in a spread of cakes, cookies, sandwiches, scones, and fresh fruit. It’s the perfect moment to relax while interacting with these gentle giants, and the staff are always ready to help you capture the perfect photo memory of your encounter.

As part of your stay, you’ll have access to the AFEW Giraffe Centre, just a short stroll across the lawn. This sanctuary provides fascinating insights into the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes and features a small nature trail for leisurely walks.
